Domain settings

Purchase new domains Purchase a domain
  • You cannot connect an unregistered domain or domain that you do not own to your online store.
  • If you do not already own a custom domain, you can purchase and register a domain through Cafe24.
Domain management
  • You can manage domains purchased through Cafe24 on this page. Receive renewal notices for domains that are about to expire, renew domains, and update your domain information.
View domains that will expire within 15 days (For domains purchased through Cafe24)
  • When logging in your account, you can view domains that will expire within the next 15 days. Renew the domains if you wish to keep using them.
  • This feature is exclusive for domains purchased through Cafe24. For all other third-party domains purchased elsewhere, you must check the expiration dates separately.
Connect a domain to your store
  • If you already own a domain, you can connect it to your online store right away.
Free SSL installations Create an SSL certificate
  • To improve security, you can use SSL certificates to encrypt your store's content and publish it securely using HTTPS instead of HTTP.
  • You must generate a CSR (Certificate Signing Request) to create an SSL certificate. You must have an SSL certificate to secure links to your online store.
  • You can create an SSL certificate for free. You will need a certificate for each new domain.

  • Click on [Manage certificates] to create an SSL certificate or to view the installation status of other certificates.

Domains connected to your stores
  • View domains connected to your online store. If you own any multi-language stores, you can click on each store to see which domains are connected to that store.
  • If you do not have any custom domains connected to your online store, only the default Cafe24 domain (id.cafe24shop.com) will be visible.
Set primary domain
  • The primary domain is the domain that customers will see in the address bar when browsing your online store. It is the main address for your site.
  • To find out which domain is your primary domain, go to [My store>General>Domain] and look for the [Primary] label next to the domain.
  • You can assign a domain that is connected to your store as the primary domain.
  • You can only have one primary domain.
Delete domain
  • Click on the [Delete] button to remove the domains that are not being used with your online store.
  • You cannot delete the default Cafe24 domain (id.cafe24shop.com).
  • You cannot delete a domain that is currently set as the primary domain.
Name server guide
  • If you are using a third-party domain, you must change your domain's name server to Cafe24 (from the domain hosting website).
  • Once you have changed the domain's name server to Cafe24, it will take approximately 24 to 48 hours before you can access the website using the domain.

  • The default Cafe24 domain is your ID plus .cafe24shop.com (id.cafe24shop.com). You can add your own custom domains and connect them to your store.
  • If you do not own any custom domains, you can buy one and add it via Cafe24.
  • You can only use letters, numbers, or hyphens in your domain name.
  • Domain names cannot start or end with a hyphen.
Purchase and connect non-registered domains
  • You cannot connect an unregistered domain or domain that you do not own to your online store.
  • All domains purchased through Cafe24 will be configured automatically (Name server settings, domain connection process, etc.).
  • You can access your store's website without any further reconfigurations.

Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) settings

Applying for SSL certificates SSL certificate range
  • Cafe24 issues SSL certificates free of charge for pages that deal with sensitive information, such as the login and sign up pages, and checkout page.
  • SSL certificates are not issued for default Cafe24 domains. You can manually generate a CSR (Certificate Signing Request) and request a SSL certificate for custom domains connected to your store.
  • Default domains include skin.storeID.cafe24.com, m.storeID.cafe24.com, etc.
  • Please be aware that you require an SSL certificate for each new domain.
  • When applying an SSL certificate to your domain, you must manually update the third-party scripts used for theme files and direct all HTTP links to HTTPS.
Note
  • Under the Certificate Issuance Policy, CSR for certain domains may be rejected. Results will be displayed on the [Manage certificates] page as [Invalid domain name signature has been detected] in the [Status] column.
  • Rejected domains include domain names with .bank extensions (e.g. xyz.bank), Certificate Authority extensions (e.g. xyz.comodo, abc.verisign, etc.), and domain names with extensions that are similar to renowned companies or cloud services (e.g. xyz.aws, abc.google, etc.). SSL certificates for such domains will be rejected with a warning: SSL certificates cannot be issued for this domain type.
  • To obtain an SSL certificate, the domain’s DNS server must be hosted by Cafe24.
  • Once you have changed your name server to Cafe24, allow for 48 hours to past before creating an SSL certificate.
  • Ensure that all third-party scripts are using HTTPS before embedding them to your store’s themes or pages.
  • Visit the third-party websites and confirm that their scripts are using HTTPS.
