All fields in [Edit promo code] page can be edited for promo codes with status marked as [Inactive].
For promo codes marked as [Active] or expired promo codes, only some fields can be edited.
Basic information
Enter the name of the promo code.
Name you entered will be displayed on the order confirmation page for orders with promo codes applied.
Promo code
Add a code you wish to use as the promo code.
You can enter up to 35 alphanumeric characters.
Check availability of the code by entering a code and clicking the [Check availability] button.
Incentives
Enter the discount rate, truncation and maximum discount per product to be applied to the promo code.
Note that the settings for [Incentive type] is applied to each product.
e.g. When a promo code with the following conditions is added: Discount rate: 10%/Maximum discount per product: 100.
When a customer orders two products, Product A and Product B, and the promo code can be applied to both products, 100 will be discounted for both products. Total discount amount will be 200.
Discount rate/Truncation
If you select [Do not truncate], numbers with decimal places will be rounded to whole numbers.
e.g. For a promo code with the following conditions applied to a product with price of 1,750: Discount rate: 10%/Truncation: 10/Maximum discount per product: 100.
Discount: 175
Discount amount truncated to 2 significant figures: 170
Discount: 100 (since the calculated discount amount is greater than the maximum discount amount per product)
Calculation rule
When you are applying a promo code together with the customer discount and customer level-based discount, follow the rule provided below.
e.g. When you are applying a customer discount (10%), promo code discount (10%), and customer level-based discount (10%) for a product with a price of 1,450.
1. Product price after a customer discount (10%) = 1,305 (145 discount)
2. Product price after a promo code discount (10%) = 1,174.5 (130.5 discount)
3. Product price after a customer level-based discount (10%) = 1,057.05 (117.45 discount)
Total order amount = 1,057.05
Conditions
Validity
Select or enter a date range for how long the promo code will be valid.
Promo code added will be valid only during the specified date range.
Applicable products
Select products to which the promo code can be applied.
All: Discount will be applied to all products in a customer's order.
Selected products: Discount will be applied only when the selected products are included in a customer's order.
Selected categories: Discount will be applied only when products added to the selected categories are included in a customer's order.
Restrictions
Set minimum order amount
Enter the minimum order amount a customer has to spend in order to use the promo code.
If you select [Yes], promo code will be applicable to an order only when a customer's order amount before other types of discount is greater than the minimum order amount you entered.
Order amount refers to product subtotal (price ± extra charge (Item)), amount to which discount is not applied.
Set maximum uses per code
Enter a number for how many times a promo code can be used.
If you select [Yes], promo code will become invalid when the number of times a promo code is used exceeds the number you entered.
Only one promo code can be applied per order. Every time a promo code is applied to an order, it will be counted as a single use. When orders with promo codes used are canceled, exchanged or refunded, the number of uses will not be added back.
Restrict eligible accounts
Select the type of accounts eligible for applying promo codes to orders at checkout.
All customers with accounts created for your store will be eligible for using promo codes. If you select [Yes], guest accounts will also be able to use promo codes at checkout.
Settings for [Allow multiple uses per account] will not be applied to guest accounts.
Allow multiple uses per account
Enter a number for how many times a promo code can be used by the same account.
This settings is applicable only to customers with accounts created for your store. The number of times a promo code can be used by the same account will be restricted based on the number you entered.
This settings will not applied to guest accounts even if you select [No] since the system cannot distinguish if the same person has used the same promo code multiple times or not.
Edit promo code
