What is Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?
  • Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of increasing website traffic and visitors by dictating search engine behavior on the website and making the rank higher on the search result page.
  • SEO covers a range of meta tag content within the HTML source of a page and to assist users spend less time searching internal or external links and sitemaps.
  • The system is automatically optimized for online stores. You can simply make edits on the Admin page without editing source codes.

  • Use of well-written text to deliver the theme of the page effectively and accurately
  • Use of meta tags based on the properties of the main or product page on the store website
  • Positioning of key information upfront in store content and tags
  • Development of websites and content for various unresponsive pages to be fit for mobile use
  • Operation of blogs and SNS websites to show store products and pages in order to attract customers from other websites
Things to avoid to maintain search ranking
  • Repetition of keywords, listing of meaningless keywords, and pasting of duplicate content
  • Use of keywords not related to website content
  • Use of too many keywords and meta tags, or use of very long text regarded as spam
  • Provision of illegibly small text or replacement of main text with images or a video

  • Saved SEO settings are directly applied to store source codes. Note that it may take up to 2 weeks applying the settings from search engines or SNS.
  • To delete pages shown in search results or not reflected in search engines, contact customer service of the search engine provider.
  • We recommend you use services customized for each search engine, such as Google Search Console or NAVER Search Advisor.

Common SEO tag settings

  1. Set common SEO tags that will appear in the title and description of search results.

  • If you change any setting value, you will be able to promptly check the preview (Google, NAVER, and SNS).
  • Settings for common page SEO tags will apply to the main page, service page, sign-up page, etc.
  • The following SEO tags take precedence over common page SEO tags:
    1. 1) Automatic system setting in pages such as Product category and Product details or individual SEO tags in each setting
    1. 2) Individual page SEO tags

Store name (Title tag)
  • Enter a key message that represents the store, such as the store name.
  • This tag will affect search results most and impress customers.
Store description (Description tag)
  • Enter brief, interesting information about the store type or product category.

Favicon

  1. Favicon, short for favorite icon, contains one or more small icons representing a website. It is next to the browser title on the tab or in the browser's address bar.

  • If you change any setting value, you will be able to promptly check the preview (Google or NAVER).
  • The representative store image will enhance the completeness of search results.

  1. You can set shortcut-linked channels that will appear on the NAVER search result pages.

  • If you change any setting value, you will be able to promptly check the preview (NAVER).
  • Drag using mouse to adjust the order of channels selected.
  • The more channels, the greater the number of online store visitors.
  • Note that channel domains must be supported by NAVER. Enter all information accurately to meet the NAVER policy.

Individual SEO tag settings

  1. You can set page-specific SEO tags.

  • You cannot add an individual page SEO tag to pages such as Product category and Product details. The tag will be assigned in each page setting or automatically in the system.
  • Individual page SEO tags will take precedence over common page SEO tags.

  1. Robots Exclusion Protocol or robots.txt file is a convention used to permit or limit search robot collection of store webpages.

  • The robots.txt file is provided by default so that the search engine robot can collect all store webpages other than Admin and API.
  • You can further strengthen security by modifying the robots.txt file to block access of a certain search engine robot or access to certain pages on the website.

  1. To help understand the status of the store website, set a webpage to be redirected when a customer or a search engine accesses a non-existent page.

  • Connect to 404 page: The webpage will be redirected to 404 page (Page Not Found) to show the exact status of the store website.
  • With the URL and : / entered, the webpage will go to the store main page. If the URL is wrong, the webpage will go to HTTP 404 page.
    1. If the exact status of search engine cannot be diagnosed, this will help reduce the exit of customers.

Sitemap and RSS feed

  • A sitemap is a list of the URLs of all pages of a website.
  • RSS is a web feed that allows users and applications to access updates to the latest website content, including the main text.
  • Search robots can crawl website data more effectively using the latest content of the URLs on the sitemap and RSS feeds.
  • The URLs copied from sitemap and RSS feed files can be utilized in search engine services, such as Google Search Console or NAVER Search Advisor.

  • Enable this setting for a sitemap file to be generated within a day.
  • A sitemap consists of all products displayed and sold on the online store.
  • To operate the sitemap function properly, you must set products to Displayed or Sold and then enable the site map setting.
  • When a product is added or removed, the URL of the product details page will be updated in the sitemap every day.

Enable RSS feed
  • Enable this setting for an RSS feed to be generated immediately.
  • An RSS feed consists of products in the main category on the store main page.
  • You can set the main category and its products in [Products> Product layout> Home Page Category Layout].
  • RSS feeds are unavailable if there is no product in the main category or if you use an intro page that requires membership or authentication.

Manually input codes

  1. You can manually enter input codes in all HTML pages on the store website.

Head section
  • The entered code is added at the bottom within the <Head> tag, but it is placed at the top rather than all other SEO meta tags and takes precedence, so be careful when entering it.

Body section
  • The code entered will be added to the bottom of the <Body> tag.

Automatic system settings

  • These are the items optimized through automatic system settings for the online store.

  • SEO tags automatically set on the following main pages can be customized in each setting:
    1. 1) Products>Categories>Product categories: Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
    1. 2) Products>Product list>Advanced settings: Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
  • If you want to change the automatic setting value other than the main page SEO tag, you can control it by entering the code that takes precedence in 'Manually input codes' or by editing the robots.txt content.
  • For the stores created before March 2022, existing settings are maintained and can be customized also.

  • SEO tags automatically set by the system are as follows:

Common page SEO tags
    1. Author = Store name
    1. Keyword = Store name

Product category page SEO tags
    1. Title = Main category name - Current category name - Store name
    1. Description: Current category name
    1. Author = Store name
    1. Keyword = Current category name, store name, and main category name
Product details page SEO tags
    1. Title = Product name - Store name
    1. Description = brief description
    1. Author= Store name
    1. Keyword = Product name, product search word, store name, and current category name

Open Graph tags
    1. og:site_name = Store name
    1. og:title, og:description = Tag values of the title and description in the pages such as Common, Product category, and Product details

Product image alt text
    1. img alt= product name

Canonical URL setting
    1. link rel="canonical"

Enable SEO tags
