Points

  • Points are issued when customers make a purchase or participate in an event.
  • Points can be used at checkout when order total is over the specified amount. Points used by the customers for purchases will be automatically restored to customers' accounts upon cancellations of orders paid with points.

General

Issue points
  • If the number of days selected is too short, customers may abuse the points system by making numerous orders and cancelling them in order to earn points, and using those earned points to purchase products.
  • You can set the time for when the points are issued.
  • You can set points to be issued 1, 3, 7, 14, or 20 days after the delivered date.
  • If you change the settings that affect when points are issued, the new settings will be applied to orders that are placed after the settings have been changed, once they are delivered.
  • For orders placed before the change was made to the settings, settings prior to the change will be applied after the order is marked as delivered.
Name
  • You can customize the name of the points to complement your online store.
Unit for points
  • You can customize the units of your points.
    1. e.g. coins, stars, hearts, etc.
Rounding
  • If the number of points is 45
    1. And 10 is selected, the 10th unit will be truncated and therefore rounded down to 0.
    1. And 1 is selected, the 1st unit will be truncated and therefore rounded down to 40.
    1. And you select [Do not round], any numbers after the decimal point will be automatically truncated and rounded down.
  • You can configure the truncation settings for when points are issued at a percentage rate.
Points format
  • You can choose to display points in your preferred format.
  • However, when customer level-based points are issued, the format will be "Amount" regardless of these settings.
  • You can select the format for points from [Percentage], [Amount], [Amount (Percentage)], or [Percentage (Amount)].
Orders refunded in points
  • You can display the reason for the refund when refunding points back to a customer.
  • The default setting is set to [Display “Points refunded” message]. If you select [Display reason for refund], the reason for refund entered in [Orders>Fulfillment>Refunds>Order details (Window)>Refunded (Tab)] will be displayed.

Issuance settings

Base for purchase amount
  • You can set the base for purchase amount when points are issued. You can select [Price], [Price ± Extra charge (item)], or [Discounted price] as the base for purchase amount.
Points to purchase amount ratio
  • You can enter the points to purchase amount ratio.
  • You can select [Default points issuance rate] if you want to issue points by the same rate for all payment methods.
  • If you want to apply different points settings for each payment method, select [Set ratio by payment method], and enter a ratio for each payment method.
Schedule points issuance
  • You can schedule a different points issuance setting for a specified period of time.
  • Products with individualized points settings cannot be scheduled for a specific time.
  • You cannot add the same period time of time if it has already been added.
  • If you want to force a currently “Active” setting to “Expire”, change the end date to a time earlier than today.
Settings per scheduled time - Example
  • If the time is scheduled for 1/1–1/31
    1. 1) If today is 1/5 - Scheduled setting is applied as 1/5 is still within the scheduled time period.
    1. 2) If today is 2/1 - Default setting is applied as 2/1 is not within the scheduled time period.

Issue customer level-based points based on
  • Use these settings to issue points based on customer levels.
  • If points are issued based on the amount calculated from deducting discounts from the cart subtotal (only including products eligible for customer level-based points), you can decide what to include in the discount amount.
  • If you select "For all products" under [Per-product discount], points will be based on the final amount after deducting all product discounts, regardless of whether the products are eligible for additional customer level-based point issuance.
  • If you select "For products subject to customer level-based points" under [Per-product discount], points will be issued based on the final amount, after deducting the product discounts of products for which the [Do not reward additional customer level-based points] option is not checked in the [Edit product] window.
  • If you select "Product coupon discount", points will be issued based on the cart subtotal, after deducting the amount relevant to product coupons.
  • If you select "Checkout coupon discount", points will be issued based on the cart subtotal, after deducting the amount relevant to checkout coupons.
  • If you select "Points", points will be issued based on the cart subtotal, after deducting the amount relevant to points.
Issue points for orders paid with points
  • Set separate bases for points issuance when a customer makes a purchase using points, or a mixed payment option that includes points.
  • If you select [Do not round], any numbers after the decimal point will be automatically truncated and rounded down.
  • You can select the basis for which points are issued when a customer makes a payment with points.
  • Points are calculated based on the total purchase amount and not the product price. If you have enabled settings for points per product, the settings will remain active regardless of other settings.
  1. 1) If you select either [Do not issue points] or [Based on the discounted price after using points], conditions will be applied to both coupon-based points and customer level-based points.
  1. 2) If you select [Based on discount price], the applied discount rate is deducted from the purchase item’s points issuance rate when points are used for payment.
      1. - Note: Points issued for purchase × {(Cart subtotal − Discount) − Points used for purchase} ÷ (Cart subtotal − Discount) = Actual points issued.
                1. "Discount" here is the discount you checked under [Issue customer level-based points based on].

  1. 3) If you choose [Based on the actual amount paid], points will be issued based on the amount calculated by deducting discounts and shipping fees. You can choose whether to include points and credits by adjusting the settings in [Amount paid includes].
      1. e.g., If you select "Credits", credits will be included in the amount paid and points will be issued based on this amount.
      1. - Note: {(Cart subtotal − Discount) × Customer level-based points issuance rate} × {(Actual amount paid − Shipping fee − Points used) ÷ Cart subtotal}
Issue points for signing up
  • Points will not be issued to new customers when the amount is set to 0.
  • You can set points issued when a customer signs up to the online store.
Issue points for email subscription upon signup
  • Points will be issued to the customers who agree to email subscription during signup.
  • It is recommended that you set a restriction on the subscription options to prevent customers from abusing the free points giveaway by changing their customer information after receiving the points.
  • Enter the amount of points to be issued after selecting the base.
Set default amount for manually issued points
  • Admins can set the default amount when manually issuing points in [Customer Information Management (CRM) > Points/Credits/Coupon > View points history].
Add reason for manually issued points
  • Admins can add a reason when manually issuing points in [Customer Information Management (CRM)>Points/Credits/Coupon>View points history].
  • Reason for issuing the points is also displayed in the customer’s points history.
  • You can manage and configure the reasons for manual points issuance if admins have to manually issue points to customers.
  • If you set this to [Enable], the area for adding the reason for manual points issuance will appear.
  • After entering the reason, click on [Add] to create the reason type. You can change the order by click on the up and down arrow buttons.

Conditions/Restrictions on redeeming points

Minimum purchase amount required to use points
  • The total purchase amount is the sum of all product prices excluding shipping fee, discounts, and amount by alternative payment methods.
  • You can set the minimum purchase amount to use the points.
Minimum points required to use points
  • Set the minimum amount of points required for customers to use their points.
Display entry field for points when disabled
  • You can choose whether to display the entry field for points when points are disabled according to the settings for [Minimum purchase amount required to use points] and [Minimum points required to use points].
  • If you select [Yes], a “Points cannot be used” message will be displayed. If you select [No], the points field will not be visible.
Restrict points issuance based on customer levels
  • Customers with customer levels that are excluded from points issuance will not receive product-based points when making a purchase.
  • However, customer level-based incentives (discounts and points) will still be rewarded.
Restrict points issuance
  1. 1) Disable points issuance when orders are fully paid with coupon discount/customer level-based discount/credits
  • Restrict points issuance when orders are paid with the selected payment methods.
  • If you choose to restrict points issuance for one or more payment methods, you should state in your Terms of Use and on a separate page that points will not be issued when a customer uses their points to make a payment, so as to minimize the risk of a dispute.

  1. 2) Disable points issuance for products that already have an incentive
  • Points will not be issued for products that already have an incentive. They will be issued for products that do not have an incentive.
  • The incentives include all incentives stated in [Promotions>Incentives] (except gift), coupon discount, coupon code discount, and subscription delivery discount.
Conditions for restricting points
  • You can restrict points when coupons are used in [Promotions>Coupons>Settings].
  • You can restrict points when a specific product or item from a specific product category is being ordered.
  • Customers can use their points when ordering a product eligible for points usage together with a product that is not eligible for points usage. However, the maximum number of points that can be used for payment will be calculated based on the price of only the eligible product.
Product category
  • Click on [Product category] to bring up the [Category] window, and restrict points usage for certain product categories.
  • Select a product category and click on [Save selected category information] to restrict points usage for that specific category.
  • If you select [Include subcategories] after selecting the category, points usage will be restricted for all the subcategories in that category as well.
  • If a customer purchases a product from a product category that is eligible for points usage with a product from a product category that is not eligible for points usage, only the maximum amount of points that can be used for the eligible product will be used.
  1. If a customer purchases two products - Product A (550) and Product B (350), and points can be used only for Product B, order total before discount and shipping is 850. Since points can be used only for Product B, the maximum amount of points the customer can use is 350.
Products
  • Click on [Product] to bring up the [Product] window, and restrict points usage for certain product.
  • You can restrict points usage for specified products by selecting products under [Specified products] and moving them to the [Selected specified products] box.
  • If a customer purchases a product that is eligible for points usage together with a product that is not eligible for points usage, only the maximum amount of points that can be used for the eligible product will be used.
  1. If a customer purchases two products - Product A (200,000) and Product B (100,000), and points can be used only for Product B, order total before discount and shipping is 300,000. Since points can be used only for Product B, the maximum amount of points the customer can use is 100,000.
