HTML tags

HTML tags Head tag source
  • The source will be inserted into the head tag (before opening to a body tag) in all of the HTML pages on your store.
  • You can use this to add content to the <head> tags of NAVER Webmaster Tools, Google Webmaster Tools, or Google Analytics.
    1. e.g. <Meta name=“OOO”  content“OOO”>
Body tag source
  • This source will be inserted in the second half (before the body tag closes) in all of the HTML pages on your store.
    1. e.g. <link href=“OO”  rel=“OOO” type=“OOO”>, or <script src=“OO”></script>

  1. You can modify the contents of the robots.txt file to restrict or allow access to certain paths on your site.
What is robots.txt?
  • Robots.txt is a standard protocol for excluding sites from various search engine bots.
  • To prevent specific search engine bots from accessing specific pages on your site, you can create a robots.txt file using standard grammar, and place it on your site to enhance security.
  • It is recommended that you restrict access to the admin directory and the directory containing information on accounts.
Robot types and names
  • Different robots have different roles. Here is a list of some of the bigger search bots.

Open graph tag settings

Open graph tag settings What is Open Graph?
  • Open graph is a feature used by social media that allows customers to share or “like” a product details page from your site and share that information on Facebook, thus integrating the two into a more interesting and meaningful form of social graph.
  • Even if you have configured settings for Open Graph, settings are not implemented immediately and may take up to one week to be fully implemented.
  • For more information on how to use Open Graph, refer to the official guides by Facebook.

  • Unlike a regular hyperlink where only the link is posted, when a link to a product details page is posted on Facebook, it is posted in a form that includes a title, description, and a trimmed down image.
  • Enter appropriate values for each item’s meta tags.
og:image tag settings
  • If no image information is added to the product, the og:image tag will not be displayed.
  • Following the order of priority, if the parent image is not registered, the sub-image will be displayed instead.
  • Image priority - ① Product image > ② List thumbnail > ③ Gallery thumbnail > ④ Catalog thumbnail image
    1. e.g. If neither the product image or list thumbnail are registered, the gallery thumbnail will be displayed.

  • Click on [Available variables] to view all the available variables that can be used for Open Graph.

  • Click on [Available variables] to view all the available variables that can be used for product image alt text.
  • Since images cannot be displayed on a search engine's search results page, alt text should be inserted in image tags to provide a description of the image you wish to show.

Canonical URL

  • Insert a canonical URL element into your store’s page so that search engines are able to identity the preferred URL from all of the other duplicated URLs based on the primary domain.
Specify canonical URL
  • By using a rel=”canonical” link element in your HTML source to indicate which URL is preferred as your site’s primary webpage, you can prevent traffic distribution on the same page.

  • Users and search engines will be taken to the 404 page (no page available) when attempting to access a nonexistent page.
  • If you select [Connect to 404 Page], you can indicate the exact status of your site’s pages to the search engine, allowing for more effective searches.

  • You cannot indicate the exact status of your site’s pages to the search engine, but you can reduce the number of customers leaving your site entirely by redirecting them to a correct page.

Site map settings

Site map settings What is a XML sitemap?
  • An XML sitemap is an XML file that lists URLs within your site, along with other additional metadata about each URL (last updated, frequency of change, relative importance of each URL, etc.) to help search engine bots crawl through your webpages more effectively.
  • If there are no products being sold or displayed on your store, a sitemap will not be created. Ensure that there are products sold or displayed on your store before using the sitemap.

  • If you want to indicate the sitemap’s location to search engine bots, specify the XML sitemap file’s location in robots.txt
    1. e.g. Sitemap - http://www.[primary domain].com/sitemap.xml
Enable site map
  • A sitemap is an XML file that contains a list of URLs collected within your site. If you select [Enable], you can create a sitemap.
  • Sitemaps will be completed and ready the following morning.
  • Once you have enabled the feature, save your settings and the sitemap will created the following morning.
  • If a product is added or deleted from your site, this new information will be updated on the sitemap the following morning.
Sitemap path
  • You can view the sitemap path once the sitemap is created.
  • You can submit newly created sitemaps to search engines via Webmaster Tools.
  • Sitemaps act like maps for search engines, helping them to search your site more efficiently.

RSS feed settings

RSS feed settings What is RSS (Really Simple Syndication)?
  • By placing an RSS feed file on your site and allowing visitors to access it, visitors can quickly view the latest new products on your store via an RSS reader program.
RSS and SEO
  • RSS can provide information about new and recently updated URLs to search engine bots, thereby allowing for faster page crawling. In addition, visits via RSS feeds are considered high quality links and may be measured highly in search rankings.
Enable RSS feeds
  • An RSS feed is a file that continuously updates itself with the latest information available on your site.
  • If you enable the RSS feed, a RSS feed is created immediately.
  • If your store uses an intro screen that requires membership verification or identity verification, you cannot register an RSS feed.
RSS feed product settings
  • You can choose which items to display from your home page on the RSS feed.
  • The RSS feed product settings is based on the home category products.
  • You can select the display items in [Products>Products>Home page Category Layout]. You cannot register an RSS feed if you do not have any products on your home page.

  • Once the the RSS feed is created, you can check the RSS feed path.
  • Provide a copy of the RSS feed path to both search engines and portal sites.
  • RSS feeds can be used to indicate how often a certain item appears in an online store, and if a search engine has the most recent up-to-date information.
