Option selection types

1. Variant-type options
  • Multiple option values selected by the customer will constitute a single product.
  • Changes you make to the option information will not affect other products.
  • You can manage inventory by individual variant and a table will be provided for you to set status for each variant.
Preset variant selection
  • Multiple option values selected by the customer will constitute a single product.
  • For products with two or more available option values, every combination will be provided as a single option for customer to select.
Multiple-option selection
  • Multiple option values selected by the customer will constitute a single product.
  • When more than two options are added, each option will be displayed separately in different rows.
Independent variant selection
  • Each variant the customer selected will be displayed as an individual selection.
  • Every time the customer selects an option, each option is added to cart as an individual product.
  • For products with multiple required options, product and gift can be differentiated with required and optional option.
Example of creating variant-type options 2. Custom selection options
  • You can import options you added in [Products>Options>Product-specific options>Options].
  • If you change option information, information of all products using the relevant option will be updated. You can manage inventory by each product.
Custom selection
  • This style is similar to the combination-type, but you can provide required or optional options.
  • This option type can be used for custom-made products such as handcraft furniture or jewerly that allow customers to select various options.
  • For this option selection type, you can only track inventory at a product level.

  • [Import option sets] allows you to add option sets easily by importing option sets already added and managed in [Options].

5. Create new options
  • You can manually enter options and option values.
  • When [Preview] is selected for [Option style], you must either add an image to be displayed as a swatch or select a color from the color chart. If the option value you entered is already listed on Cafe24 color chart, the option value will be automatically be added.
  • When option styles other than [Preview] is selected for [Option style], words related to color should be entered as the option name in order to select colors for the option values. (e.g. Color, Colour, カラー, 色)
  • You can add option price by entering the price after #. The price you entered will be applied automatically for your default store. (e.g. Black#1000)
6. Track inventory
  • If you select [Yes], the inventory of the product will be tracked.

Variants settings

1. Edit option values
  • By clicking [Edit], you can edit the option values you added.
  • Clicking [Edit] will open a pop-up where you can edit option values.
2. Add variants for all options
  • Variants are created for all option values.
3. Add variants for selected options
  • When you imported options, you can create variants only for the options you selected.
4. Bulk edit
  • Clicking [Bulk edit] will open a pop-up where you can edit options in bulk for each multi-language store.
  • You can add settings for inventory tracking, stock type, counting method, minimum stock level, out-of-stock icon, display status, sale status, extra charge and linked product image for multiple products at once.
5. Filters
  • You can use filters on the variants to view only the variants you want.
6. Custom variant code
  • You can enter a custom product code in this field.
  • When you click [Check availability of custom variant code] button, you will be able to check whether the custom variant code you entered is already in use or not.
7. Track inventory
  • If you select [Yes], the inventory of the product will be tracked.
  • You can check detailed inventory settings in [Products>Inventory>Manage inventory].-
8. Stock type
  • You can classify the stock type as either general or important.
  • This data can be used as a search filter.
9. Counting method
  • Select how the variant will be deducted from stock. (Items added to cart will not be deducted from stock.)
When an order is placed
  • The stock level will be reduced when the relevant product is ordered. • Including bank deposit and virtual account orders that their payment is not yet confirmed
When payment is confirmed
  • Product is deducted from inventory when payment is confirmed. (When payment is confirmed for bank deposit or virtual account)
10. Available stock
  • You can enter how many products you have in stock.
11. Minimum stock level
  • Enter the minimum number of variants that you need to have in your inventory in order to fulfill the sales and shipping demand.
  • When the number of products reach the minmum stock level you entered, the product low in stock will appear in [Products>Manage inventory>Minimum stock level].
12. Enable out-of-stock icon
  • If you enable this feature, product will be displayed as out-of-stock when the inventory for the product becomes 0.
13. Display status
  • You can select whether to display the variant on the storefront.
  • If you select [Not on display], the variant will not be visible on the storefront.
14. Sale status
  • You can select whether to display the variant on the storefront.
  • If you select [Not for sale], the variant will be displayed as out of stock on the storefront.
15. Extra charge
  • You can enter the extra price the customer would have to pay for a specific option.
16. Change currency
  • If you enter extra charge for the variant and click [Change currency], the extra charge will be automatically converted into each currency of your multi-language stores.
17. Add product image
  • When a customer selects the variant in product details page, the added image will be displayed as the main image.
18. Separator text
  • Separator text refers to text that will be displayed on the storefront to separate option values or option categories in option dropdown lists.
  • The separator text will be displayed as 'Please select option' on the storefront.
  • When you click [Add separator text] button, a field where you can enter the text will appear below the variant. You can change the order of the field using the arrow buttons.
  • Separator text can be added only for products set as preset variant selection type.
File attachment option
  • A field where a customer can enter information will be created.
  1. e.g. If you store sells jewerly and engraving is required, you can add a custom text field for name and make the field required.

Swatch
  • When [Preview] is selected for [Option style], the image you added will be displayed as a swatch.
  • If you add both colors and images, swatches will be displayed as images.
Color
  • You can select colors available for the product.
  • [Yes] must be selected for [Color] in [Products>Products>Product data display].
  • When [Preview] is selected for [Option style], the image you added will be displayed as a swatch.
  • If you add both colors and images, swatches will be displayed as color chips.
Link image
  • You can add an image that will be displayed once the customer clicks on the color.
  • You cannot link images for products with product-specific options and bundles.
